BOOK REVIEW - Katie's Hellion, L Ford

Katie's Hellion (Rhyn Trilogy, #1) Katie's Hellion (Rhyn Trilogy #1)

by
Katie thinks she’s going crazy when a baby angel and death’s personal assistant appear on her doorstep. Both claim she’s destined for something great. If she can survive, that is. She’s drawn into a world filled with immortals like Rhyn, an outcast who claims her as his mate in a show of defiance to his brothers. Katie rescues Rhyn from Hell, and he discovers fast just how special his little human is. With Death counting his days on one hand, Rhyn must learn to love, before his own time is up and Katie becomes the first human casualty in the brewing war between immortals. Will the love between a gifted young woman and an immortal outcast save the world-- or destroy it?

MY REVIEW 5/5 STARS
At last a story that is close to my own interests. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Loved the main characters, both good and bad, got to know them well. Was a little confused to start with over all the names of the brothers but all became a little clearer as we concentrated on the important ones. This is one tough little human woman with a beastly hunk of a monster, though a handsome one. She seems to flow from one calamity to another making a very interesting story. I will most certainly be buying the rest of the series. Highly recommend this author.

An introduction to the Aarabassa World background

I'm hoping to interact a little more with my new Website Aarabassa Fantasy World. For simplicity the information is in alphabetical order so this should be fairly methodical and hopefully informative.

There are two main categories, one is of the 'world's geography and its environment' and the other is about the 'peoples and characters'. So, the obvious place to begin with is the A section:-

THE WORLD
Aarabassa  A world with one sun and two moons. One half is in constant twilight and darkness, the other half is in constant sunlight.
Archeronian Oceans  Large ocean in the Darklands that is situated between the ice caps and the mainland. Topped with glaciers and floating ice bergs. Underneath are the deep dark and eerie depths.

THE PEOPLE
Abapes Ape people – (Abapions) gentle, strong, simple, huge hairy human like body with ape face  – servants & carers of dragons.
Ajarrk  Vamplin. Commander. Good friend to Leader Fiendrac.
Alfred (Gilgam) Human. King. Age around 54 suncircles
Amos (Gilgam) Human. Heir. Age around 21 suncircles. Eldest of three brothers.
Ancient Mage Human. Changeling. Also known as Saurlton Barronz. Brother to the Emperor.
Anyetta (Longbard) Dwarf. Princess.
Apsle Dragon. King.

If you want to know more then click the link above for the Aarabassa Fantasy World website.

If you want to read more about this world and these peoples then you buy Guardian Dragons, Book 1 of the Fantasy Series set on this world.

A Warm Welcome to Members

Just want to welcome new members to my 'writing' blog. Also to thank other members for staying with me. It isn't easy when we are all trying to follow so many blogs.

I haven't been very active here for a while due to moving house plus creating a new website Aarabassa World Website devoted totally to my fantasy series.

I don't blog much anyway, so I will not inundate you with articles. Usually when I have something new to add about my fantasy series. Occasionally I also like to interview other fantasy authors.

Well it's still nice 'n' sunny here in the UK, in Yorkshire anyway, so I'm whizzing out and about sorting out the new house. Once Autumn starts to set in, we Yorkshire peeps tend to stay indoors which means I will get more writing done.

Moving house took most of my concentration, due to my old, old age, so once we're settled, which seems like forever, that will also allow me to write more often.

So, after all my excuses I hope you remain a member and pop into the new website to see what my series is all about.

Update of busy bee

Phew I haven't updated my blog for some time so I thought I'd let you know what I've been writing.
  1. Book 3 of the Aarabassa World series is almost ready for release but not finalised a date yet.
  2. Entered a writing competition for the first time ever - only 500 words but that was a real challenge for me as I'm an epic writer.
  3. Doing an 8k short story for a Halloween Anthology with some top authors so I'm very excited about that.
  4. Haven't any author interviews lined up  for my blog for the month of August due to a house move.
  5. My Website Aarabassa World Website is developing quite well. I need to work out how to add a 'follow' button but as yet you can only view. You are also very welcome to leave comments. Say hi if you visit.

4/5 star Review Guardian Dragons

I'm so happy to share my latest book review on Amazon.com = 4/5 stars

By Robin Smith on August 12, 2013
Format: Kindle Edition
Let me begin by saying that I was given this book for an honest review.

In the beginning I was disappointed because I thought that this would be a sad story, however, I persisted in reading hoping for the best. I was glad I did as I found new and interesting characters in a bright new world to me. This series will be a journey of discovery for our characters as well as an epic adventure of good versus evil. I would say that this series is geared to young adults, new adults and for the young at heart.

I found this story to be well written and flowing well from scene to scene. It pays to be persistent when reading any book because sometimes you truly get a surprise in your expectations of a series of books. I look forward to the next in the series as Prince Amos and Prince Leon begin their quest to gather the council together. Who knows what and who they will meet along the way? My question is will Prince Leon's friend Heather be a part of their quest or will she continue to prepare for her duties as the Changeling and have a quest of her own. Only time and the next book will tell.

MANY THANKS GO TO ROBIN SMITH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANALYSE MY STORY. PLUS FOR STICKING WITH THE BOOK.

Book 2 small alterations

Flight of a Changeling (Aarabassa World)CHANGES to Book 2 - Flight of a Changeling.

For those of you who have already read this book prior to Aug 2013, contact me and I'll let you have a FREE updated e-copy. There are some changes to the parts that involve the huphin sea Princess Bryley. They are quite subtle and really don't change anything in the main plot. It was a small adjustment to help this particular sub-plot flow better. I'm considering changing the book cover for edition 3 but haven't decided if this is necessary for such a small alteration. Watch this space to keep updated.

Dedicated to the One I love

Hi world - been away from my blog for a short while as I was moving house. I also lost my friend and companion of 15 years, a large white shaggy doggy called Cosworth. Unfortunately he had cancer and I am glad he isn't suffering any more, but I do miss him terribly. In my books he is known as Frizzle (Friz).

Anyway, I'm so glad that it is all over now. Not quite organised for getting back to my writing but nearly there.  At the stage with boxes here, there and everywhere.

Will return shortly to let you know when Book 2 Flight of a Changeling is re-edited. Just trying to decide whether to change the book cover or not.

Will also get back to updating the new website which will eventually have all the details of the series of the Aarabassa World.
